Popsicle-stick craft for the ages
Offer up a handful of multi-colored pompoms, something to use for a spine (whether a popsicle stick, pencil, or real stick), pipe cleaners (if you have them), glue (not superglue), and some other odds and ends (like a magazine or newspaper or some other random around-the-house items).
Instructions: Go make a furry creature out of these.
If the pompoms won’t inspire them, then the idea of a popsicle-stick craft will.
Younger kids need opportunities for hands-on, tactile creativity. It helps with their development.
Note: If it doesn’t turn out to be a furry creature, remember that the instructions are just a suggestion. They could come up with a furry-wheeled car, which would be just as cool in my opinion.
